From a young age, Mr. Tolbert was groomed to fulfill a second-generation leadership role at AAS. As president of the firm he oversees all aspects of aircraft sales and acquisitions, marketing, business development and market research.
Beginning at the age of 17, he learned every facet of the company’s services in business aviation, starting in corporate aircraft market research. During college, Mr. Tolbert attended classes full-time, earned a pilot’s license, and joined the sales team. By the time he graduated, Mr. Tolbert had emerged as a sales leader, having closed over a dozen transactions of corporate aircraft with a combined value of over $30 million by the age of 22. Today, he presides over one of the industry’s only companies with over 50 years of continuous operation, a testament to AAS’s leadership since the earliest days of private jet aviation.
Mr. Tolbert is an instrument rated pilot, and received a BA in Business Administration with concentrations in marketing and management from the University of South Florida.
Mrs. Tolbert joined American Aircraft Sales in 1980 working alongside her late husband and company founder Charlie Tolbert. Over the years she has worked in a variety of capacities within the business, from research, sales, and marketing, to operational management and accounting. We have had the pleasure of working together with Chris Knapp, Jet Tolbert, and American Aircraft Sales regarding the recent sale of our 2005 Beechcraft King Air B200. Selling a corporate jet is not something we do every day. That’s why we looked for the best references in the market to manage the sale of our Citation, and then American Aircraft Sales was hired.
Jet Tolbert’s team did a perfect job, from Chris’ first approach to the delivery of the aircraft in Fort Lauderdale.
From inspections to documents and technical reports to financial details, all steps were carried out with professionalism, leaving everyone involved very comfortable throughout the sales process.
The work was perfect and all expectations were fully met.
At first, I was convinced the Citation X wouldn’t sell for what the owner was asking. The Citation X traveled through 3 different brokers with no results. That’s when Christopher Knapp called and clearly explained the marketing strategy he had for the plane. We decided to list with American Aircraft Sales and had it sold within a few months for what the owner was asking. We highly recommend Christopher and his team at American Aircraft Sales.
We purchased a Gulsftream G100 form Jet Tolbert (American Aircraft Sales) he was very professional and easy to work with. As with all aircraft deals thing came up that were unforeseen, Jet handled them with honor and integrity. I look forward to our next deal.
We had a multi-year property tax appeal on a corporate jet and Jet Tolbert used his extensive industry experience and contacts to provide the necessary resource to resolve our appeals with an excellent result. Jet’s ability to navigate the complicated market for corporate aircraft was critical to our success.
When it was time for our company to sell an aircraft, I didn’t hesitate to reach out to Jet Tolbert with American Aircraft Sales. The team at AAS is extremely professional and they don’t simply throw a couple pictures of your aircraft up on a website and wait for calls to come in. Jet and his team develop a very detailed marketing plan, including professional photos that tell a story about your aircraft, devotes personal time to discussing the details of your aircraft, and produces an all-encompassing report used to advertise to prospective buyers. I believe this attention to detail and Jet’s professional advice is why we were successful in selling our aircraft during a very difficult economic time, without making a large reduction in price. What I appreciate most is the care and concern from Jet, which extends beyond the sale and builds a very strong, professional relationship. Probably the number one reason why we’ll call American Aircraft Sales for our next aircraft sale.
Having purchased my first Learjet from American Aircraft Sales founder Charlie Tolbert in 1988, I have always relied on Jet and his team for various aircraft acquisitions and sales including the most recent acquisition of my Gulfstream in 2018.
Having the word “Quality” in our name, is a constant reminder of the promise to our customers. When working with service providers we pay special attention to the quality of service provided. With American Aircraft Sales we found a partner who meets our expectations. You never know if an aircraft sales transaction will be smooth and quick or if you might encounter difficulties. Either way, Jet Tolbert and his team have proven to be a quality partner. Looking forward to many more sales transactions with our friends at American Aircraft Sales!
It was a great experience as a purchaser working with American Aircraft Sales. Jet and his team made the process seamless and enjoyable. We will definitely contact them for all of our future helicopter purchases or sales.
